HYDERABAD: With the Intermediate examinations all set to begin on Monday, all the photocopying centres nearby the exam centres have been closed. In some places identified as ‘notorious’ machines have also been seized.
Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Secretary G. Balaramaiah said all arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the exam. He said less than 5,000 students will not be able to write the exam due to attendance shortage. But candidates having shortage of attendance in Arts and Humanities stream were given hall-tickets treating them as ‘private candidates’. Yet, similar facility cannot be extended to science stream students as rules don’t permit, he said.
Mr. Balaramaiah said 9,30,357 first year students will be taking the first language exam on Monday while the total students taking Inter exams was about 18.9 lakhs. Exams are being held in 2,396 centres.
He said training for invigilators was given even on Sunday so that students don’t face any problems with regard to filling up the OMR sheet or writing the exam. The set code will be taken out at 6 a.m. in the morning and informed to the officials through police network and the All India Radio.
Elaborate bandobust
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner has said that in order to curb violence and intimidation and help ICSE and CBSE students write their exams without hindrance, police has made elaborate bandobust arrangements for the examination to be conducted on March 10. In addition to the entire city, outside police forces will also be deployed.
He asked students appearing for the exams and their parents to make their travel plans keeping in view the traffic diversions to be made on March 10 in view of the ‘Million March’.
Students should take appropriate route to the examination centres to reach there well in advance.
