New Delhi: With not even a fortnight into the new year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Date Sheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations 2011.
Both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations have been scheduled to begin from March 1 this year. While the Class 10 board exams will end on March 25, class 12 board exams will conclude on April 13.
The CBSE had last year made appearing for the class 10 board examinations optional for all students due to the implementation of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. The current batch of students is the first one for being given this option to not give the boards.
The total number of students studying in the tenth standard in schools affiliated to the CBSE across India is 8,23,125. Of these, 2,73,538 students will be taking the class 10 board exams while the rest will appear for the school based term-end Summative II exams that will be conducted in April this year under CCE.
