questions from UNIT-II.
2. Attempt 2 questions from UNIT-I.

4. Answers should be suitably supported by illustrated examples.

UNIT I BUILDING MATERIAL (Maximum Marks: 25)
1) The knowledge of types, properties and market rates of bricks is must for Its effective
utilization in building construction. Elaborate with suitable example.
2) The study, designing and effective application of lime mortar are vital for the efficient
utilization in the buildings construction. Elaborate with a suitable example.
3) Elaborate on various types of surface finishes. Investigate and analyze the advantages and
disadvantages of pointing with respect to north Indian condition. Explain with examples.
UNIT II BUILDING CONSTRUCTION (Maximum Marks: 45)
4) Elaborate on various types tools used in brick masonry. Draw details for any one.
5) Elaborate on various types of bonds in brick masonry. Draw details for any two.
6) Write a detailed note on various types of bats and closers in brick masonry. Draw details
for any two types.
7) Explain lintel in brick masonry with neat sketch.
