1. Attempt any TWO questions from UNIT-I and ANY THREE from UNIT-II.

UNIT-I
1. What do you understand by ORDERS OF GREEK ARCHITECURE? Compare and
contrast the three orders commonly used in classic Greece.
2. Discuss the concept of Egyptian Pyramids with special reference to great pyramid of
Cheops at Gizeh.Illustrate your answer with sketches.
3. Draw the plan & section of the Pantheon at Rome , also explain its salient features.
UNIT-II
4. Enumerate the principles of Vedic Village with respect to layout, location of principal
buildings and the key functions of these buildings.
5. Discuss the origin of stupas in Buddhist architecture. Highlight the architectural features
of the stupas at Sanchi.
6. Explain the architectural development during Gupta period with emphasis on temple
architecture.
7. Discuss the grid iron pattern of street and layout of drainage system in Indus valley
civilization.
8. Discuss the architectural characteristic of Chalukyan architecture with the help of any
two important buildings in this period.
