1. Please read the question paper carefully and refer the enclosed site plan. At the end of the
first session of 4 hours, you are required to submit preliminary sketch design along with the
concept of your proposal.
2. The preliminary submission will not be returned to you, therefore, retain the copy of plans
for your reference.
3. No major deviation from original concept is permitted in the final submission.
4. Students are free to assume the missing data, if any.

Flats for Co operative Housing Society
Co operative Housing Society has been allotted a site of approx 6 Acres in Amritsar measuring
660??360? with 40' wide road along 360 feet frontage. The design objectives has to be
developed in response to the demand for housing that meets people's needs and responds to the
climatic conditions. Well designed housing can reduce its environmental and social impact
whilst saving money on the cost of living over the life of the project. Design aim should be to
provide safe and healthy living environment to the occupants and meetings their needs through
all stages of their lives. Sensitively designed public open space can turn a good development
into a great one, providing a lasting amenity for residents and neighbours alike. Landscaping
too often treated as a secondary consideration or eliminated altogether, in fact, a critical
component of any successful development project and should be considered an essential part of
the design process. Other Key issues to consider in site planning are: zoning and other
regulations, site utilities, access, natural light and views.
