WRITE SHORT ESSAYS ON THE FOLLOWING:
1. Describe briefly the nicotinic and muscarinic effects of Acetylcholine. Describe
the pharmacological effects and clinical features of malathion poisoning.
2. Write a brief note on the synthesis, reuptake and metabolism of
catecholamines and drugs which affect these processes.
3. Classify the types of beta receptors and their sites. Classify beta blockers and
write a brief note on metoprolol.
4. Classify anesthetic drugs. Describe briefly the advantages, disadvantages
and uses of halothane and propofol.
5. Classify antiepileptic drugs. Which of these drugs are preferred in
Pregnancy? What features will help you decide to withdraw drugs in a
patient on antiepileptic treatment for generalized tonic clonic seizures?
6. Second generation antipsychotics
7. Classify anti-anginal drugs and their mechanism of action. Write a brief note
on nitroglycerin.
8. List out the potassium sparing diuretics, their mechanism of action, uses and
adverse effects.
9. Write a brief note on the pharmacology of Digoxin and its current status in
clinical practice.
10. Describe briefly the cerebroactive drugs and their use in Alzheimer?s disease.
