A 50-year-old man who is a known diabetic and hypertensive presents 1+6+3
with severe chest pain, breathlessness and diaphoresis while climbing
a flight of stairs. What is your likely diagnosis? Write briefly how you
would assess and manage this patient. As a family physician, what
steps can you take for primary prevention of this condition?
A 25-year-old known asthmatic presents to your community health 6+4
centre with severe breathing difficulty just after Diwali. Describe the
evaluation and step wise management of this patient. As a family
physician, how will you prevent recurrence of such episodes in the
future?
Describe the long term complications and treatment of type 2 diabetes 5+5
mellitus.
A 30?year?old farmer presents with an acute febrile illness of 7 days 2+7+1
duration. List the common causes of an acute undifferentiated febrile
illness. Describe your approach to this patient in terms of history,
examination, investigations and management in a clinic. List indications
for referral for admission.
A 70-year-old lady is brought to you with fever, cough and 3+3+4
breathlessness for the past 2 days. Write briefly on the CURB 65
criteria to assess community acquired pneumonia. Describe the
complications and management of community acquired pneumonia.
A 75?year-old man presents to you with significant loss of weight over 2+3+5
the past 2 months and he was found to be anaemic. Classify anemias.
List the possible causes for his anaemia and how you would assess
him for the cause and severity of anaemia.

7. Describe the classification, clinical features and treatment of anxiety 3+3+4
disorders.
8. Enumerate the reactional states in leprosy. Describe their clinical 4+6
features and management.
9. A 30-year-old presents to the CPD and is incidentally detected to have 6+4
a blood pressure of 170/110mmHg. What will be your diagnostic
approach to this patient in terms of history, examination and
investigations? How will you treat such a patient?
10. Describe the clinical features and management of chronic plaque 5+5
psoriasis.
