Answer all five questions
All questions carry equal marks
-
a) A fixed point is 75 mm from a fixed vertical line. A point ‘P’ moves in such a way that its distance from the fixed point is always twice its distance from the fixed straight line. Draw the locus of the point ‘P’ and name the curve. Draw a tangent and normal to the curve at a point 100 mm from the fixed line.
b) Construct a diagonal scale of R.F. = 3:200 showing metres, decimetres and centimetres and long enough to measure up to 6 metres.

A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls without slipping along a horizontal line. Draw the curve traced out by a point ‘P’ on the circumference for one complete revolution of the circle. Draw a tangent and normal to the curve at a point 40 mm from the horizontal line.
-
A line AB is 75 mm long. A is 50 mm in front of VP and 15 mm above HP. B is 15 mm in front of VP and is above HP. Top view of AB is 50 mm long. Draw and measure the front view. Find the inclinations of AB with HP and VP.

A regular pentagon of 30 mm side has one side on the ground. Its plane is inclined at 45° to the HP and perpendicular to the VP. Draw its projections.
-
A square pyramid, base 40 mm side and axis 90 mm long, has a triangular face on the ground and the vertical edge containing that face is inclined at 45° to the VP. Draw its projections.
OR
Draw the projections of a hexagonal prism, base 25 mm side and axis 60 mm long, resting on one of its corners on the HP with its axis inclined at 30° to the HP and parallel to the VP.

-
A cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and height 70 mm rests vertically on one of its circular faces on the HP. A cutting plane inclined at 45° to the HP, passes through the cylinder at a point 20 mm from the top. Draw the sectional top view and develop the lateral surface of the remaining portion of the cylinder.
OR
A cone, diameter of base 50 mm and height 70 mm rests with its base on HP. A cutting plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 30° to HP cuts the cone bisecting its axis. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the truncated cone.
-
Draw the isometric view of a square prism, side of base 40 mm and height 70 mm with a central hole of diameter 20 mm.
OR
Draw the following views of the object shown in figure. All dimensions are in mm.
- Front view
- Top view
- Side view from left.
