PART - B 5 ? 10 Marks = 50

2. Explain the nature, scope and importance of Production and Operation
Management. [10]

4. What is value engineering? What is the step by step approach to value engineering?

5. Elucidate the steps of Process planning. [10]

6. Discuss the single and multi facility location problems with examples. [10]

7. Describe the Plant lay out design procedure in detail. [10]

8. Explain the concept and importance of scheduling. [10]

9. A company is faced with five tasks which have to be processed through two machines.
Find the idle time by using Johnson?s rule. Also find out the total time span for
completing all the jobs. [10]
