a) A 26 years old primi gravid mother with 36 weeks of gestation is admitted to hospital for
safe confinement. She is diagnosed to have HIV positive on laboratory testing. Her CD4 count
is 200 cells/mm3. Explain the role of the nurse in providing comprehensive and holistic care to
the mother during labour utilizing family ? centred and multidisciplinary team approach.
b) Enumerate the various breast-feeding issues and nurses role in counseling the mother.
