UNIT-I
1. What are the characteristics of wrought iron? What are the various applications of steel in
building? (12.5)
2. What are the various types of aluminum available in the market? Draw sketches of the
various sections of aluminum to be used for construction of an aluminum window.

3. Write short notes on following :
a) Rolled steel sections
b) Lattice girders and its use (12.5)
UNIT-II
4. Draw a north light roof truss for an industrial shed of size 20m ? 8 m size. Draw plan,
elevation, section & complete details including fixing of roof covering & north light
glazing. (25)
5. A sliding door in aluminum is to be provided for an opening of size 3 m in a banquet hall.
Draw the construction details, plan, sectional elevation to explain the design. (25)
6. Draw the plan, elevation & construction details for a steel stairs with the floor to floor
distance being 3.0 m in an automobile showroom. (25)
7. Draw the plan, elevation & construction details for steel flooring for a mezzanine in an
industrial shed. (25)
