With the increased awareness of environmental degradation, most of the city authorities are
insisting the citizens to use more of public transport systems. This has resulted in addition of
more number of buses on the streets. As a result, the need for Bus Stop Shelters has increased
manifold.
As young designers with fresh and vibrant ideas, you are approached by the local councillor of
your area to conceptualise a proposal for an interesting Bus Stop Shelter.
The same should have seating arrangement for at least 10 people and waiting capacity of
minimum 25 persons at a time. In and out routes should be properly defined. The shed must
accommodate a drinking water fountain, a first aid arrangement and a tuck-shop. Digital
display for bus timings should be placed at strategic location. Barrier-free movement is
mandatory, like all other public buildings.
You have a total area 30mX45m, with the shorter side abutting the main road. This area will
accommodate the shelter as well as open parking facility for cycles, two-wheelers and one/two
taxis. As sensitive designers, you are advised to use sustainable building materials and
technology.

(b) Front and one side elevation 1: 50 scale
(c) Site plan in 1:100 scale
