Wounds of scalp bleed profusely because:

  1. wall of cam vessels fail to retract because they are adhered to dense ct.
  2. It is profusely supplied with blood ce anastoman with each other
  3. Wounds of scalp heal quickly because
  4. Scalp is the commonest site of sebaceous cysts because it contains max no. of sebaceous glands as compared to anywhere else in the body.

if pus collect here , the infection may travel from this layer through emissary veins into intracranial dural venous sinuses, causing their thrombosis & associated meningitis.
