2. Short answer question (any five out of six) [5X4=20]

  1. Enumerate various antimalarial agents. Outline the drug treatment of chloroquine-resistant P. falciparum malaria. Mention other uses of chloroquine.
  2. Classify H1 antihistaminics giving suitable examples. Mention four therapeutic uses and adverse effects of them. Mention one histamine analogue giving its therapeutic use.
  3. Enlist various tocolytic agents. Compare & contrast Oxytocin & Prostaglandins on the basis of their mechanism of action, action on uterus & therapeutic uses.
  4. Write four groups of drugs with examples & respective mechanism of action used for prophylaxis of bronchial asthma.
