B.Tech I Semester (R20) Regular Examinations
Subject: Engineering Graphics (Common to CE & ME)
Time: 3 Hours Max. Marks: 70
Note: Answer all questions. All questions carry equal marks.
-
a) A point P is 20mm above HP and 30mm in front of VP. Another point Q is 40mm below HP and 20mm behind VP. Draw projections of P and Q keeping the distance between their projectors equal to 80mm. Also draw a straight line joining their top views.
OR
b) Draw a vernier scale of RF = 1:2.5 to read centimeters and millimeters and long enough to measure up to 200mm. Mark on it a length of 184mm.
-
a) A line AB 75mm long makes an angle of 45° with the VP while its front view makes an angle of 55° with the XY line. The end A is 10mm in front of the VP and 15mm above the HP. Draw the projections of the line AB.
OR
b) A regular pentagonal lamina of 30mm side rests on HP on one of its sides such that the surface of the lamina is inclined at 30° to HP. The side on which it rests is inclined at 45° to VP. Draw the projections of the lamina.
-
a) A cone, base diameter 50mm and axis 65mm long, rests with its base on HP. A cutting plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 30° to HP cuts the cone, bisecting the axis. Draw the front view, sectional top view and true shape of the section.

OR
b) A cylinder of base diameter 50mm and height 70mm rests on its base on the HP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 45° to HP such that the cutting plane meets the axis at a point 20mm from the top. Draw the development of the surface of the remaining (lower) portion of the cylinder.
-
a) Draw the isometric view of a square prism, with side of base 40mm and height 70mm, when the axis is vertical.

b) Draw the isometric view of a frustum of a cone having 60mm base diameter, 30mm top diameter and 70mm height.
-
