5.a)

A Random sample of 100 items is taken from a population whose standard deviation is
5.1 the mean of the sample is 21.6. Construct 95% confidence interval for the mean.

b)

It is claimed that a random sample of 100 tyres with a mean life of 15269 is drawn from
a population of tyres which has a mean life of 15200 km and a standard deviation of
1248 km. Test the validity of the claim at 95% level.

500 members has a mean 4.2 cms and S.D 2.1 cms. Test the difference between the
