Note: Answer all questions. All questions carry equal marks.

Question 1

1. a) A fixed point is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. A point P moves such that its distance from the fixed point is always half of its distance from the fixed straight line. Draw the locus of the point P. Also, name the curve.

2. b) Draw a vernier scale of R.F = 1:2.5 to read centimeters up to 4 meters. Show on it a length of 3 meters 69 cm.

Question 2

Draw the projections of the following points on the same ground line, keeping the projectors 25 mm apart.

1. Point A is 20 mm above H.P and 30 mm in front of V.P.

2. Point B is in H.P and 40 mm behind V.P.

3. Point C is 25 mm below H.P and 30 mm behind V.P.

4. Point D is 30 mm above H.P and in V.P.

Question 3

A line AB, 80 mm long, makes an angle of 45° with the H.P and 30° with the V.P. Its end A is 20 mm above the H.P. and 30 mm in front of the V.P. Draw the projections of the line.

Question 4

A pentagonal plane of side 30mm is resting on H.P on one of its corners with its surface making 45° with H.P. Draw its projections when the side opposite to resting corner is parallel to V.P and away from it.

Question 5

Draw the projections of a cylinder, base 40 mm diameter and axis 50 mm long, when it is resting on the H.P. on a point on its base circle such that the axis is inclined at 30° to the H.P. and parallel to the V.P.

Question 6

Draw an isometric view of a hexagonal prism with side of base 30 mm and height 75 mm when its axis is vertical.
