  5. Mr. S. Subramanian, a 50 year old farmer was admitted to the medical ward with the complaint of retrosternal chest pain which was radiating to left upper arm. The pain developed when he was chopping firewood, lasted for about 15 minutes and was relieved by rest. He had three similar episodes in the last 6 months which also developed during vigorous physical activities and lasted for about 10 minutes and was relieved by rest. ECG showed ST depression and T inversion and his total cholesterol and LDL levels were elevated. He was treated for ischaemic heart disease.
