A 45 year old male returned from India after a month of business trip was
admitted to the Teaching Hospital Jaffna with the complaints of fever with chills
and rigors. Clinical examination revealed that the above patient was anemic and
having the splenomegaly.

A 15 year old school boy staying in the hostel was presented to skin clinic
complaining of intense itching (pruritus), at the site of webbing between the
fingers. I le also mentioned that the itchiness was worse especially at night.

3. A 25-year-male was bitten by a snake on his foot while working in his paddy
field. The patient was admitted to the hospital 2 hours after the bite. On
admission the victim complained severe pain at the bite site. Examination of the
patient revealed marked swelling and bleeding at the site of bite. His blood was
incoagulable when assessed by the 20WBCT. But, there was no evidence for
having any neurological manifestations of envenoming. He passed urine few
hours after the admission. It was normal in color and there were no proteins or
red cells in the urine.
