HYDERABAD: Intermediate practical examinations will be held from February 3 to February 23 across 2,573 centres in the state. A total of 5,92,904 students will appear for the exams to be held between 9 am to 12 noon and 2 p.m to 5 p.m.
The Board of Intermediate Education has charted out a list of measures to be taken to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. Among them are forming of district examination committees, increase in the number of examiners and constituting a high power committee with collector as its chairman. The committee comprising SP as vice-chairman, and district vocational educational officers as ex-officio members is vested with the power to order re-conduct examination wherever malpractices are established. Also the number of examiners this year have been increased and will not be allowed to conduct practical examination in their own college or another junior college of the same management.
Flying squads will also be deployed like the theory examinations. Departmental officers have been appointed to all private unaided college practical examination centres and they will be changed every five days. Also examiners at a centre will be changed every three days. Provision for re-verification of the practical answer scripts of candidates in any college (where 25 percent of the candidates) score 100 percent marks in practical examinations have been made. Also the BIE can re-verify answer scripts of students who score between 27 and 30 marks in practical examinations.
The theory exams would commence from March 7. The board has conducted orientation programs for senior lecturers for strengthening the valuation system.
“We are requesting students and political parties to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the examinations. It is mandatory to have appeared for the Intermediate exams for students to be eligible for competitive exams like AIEEE, IIT and AAIMS,” secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education G. Balaramaiah said in a press release.
