Another sham software firm has shut its shop in the city, leaving about 140 job aspirants in the lurch.
Infotech Systems at Srinagar Colony, which opened its office in August last year, collected money from unemployed youth in the name of providing jobs and shut shop. According to the victims, the firm collected about Rs 80 lakh from about 140 aspirants through a consultancy and directly.
“The victims were told that they will be given jobs this month or next month,” the police said. According to police each of aspirants paid Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 to the firm as security deposit. As many as 34 of the IT firm’s victims staged a dharna in front of Panjagutta police station on Monday evening, seeking justice. The protest was called off after the police asked them to lodge a complaint on Tuesday.
