Corporate schools in the Telangana region that have been closed since September 13 on account of the ongoing strike for statehood, have told parents to collect the quarterly exam question papers from the school and conduct exams for their children in their own homes!
A majority of corporate schools in the region are owned by managements belonging to the Seemandhra region. These schools, which have been shut down from September 13, fearing attacks from T-activists, will be opened only after the Dasara vacation, on October 10.
Parents were taken by surprise when they started receiving SMSes on their mobile phones from the schools asking them to collect the question papers and conduct the exams themselves.
Mr M. Manik, a parent, said, “The corporate schools are giving question papers to parents for students from Classes VII to X since these schools start the foundation course for various competitive exams from this stage. The teachers told us that periodic exams are necessary for these students from this stage if they want to succeed in competitive exams after Class XII.”
