Lucknow: Finally, the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010 have been declared as it was expected, i.e. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Students can see their ‘original’ mark-sheets at the Official Website of the CATIIM.
This year CAT score cards will have photographs of the aspirants. IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow are expected to display the list of shortlisted candidates for the group discussion and personal interview. CAT IIM is the prestigious examination known as the Common Admission Test – Indian Institute of Management for admission into the leading B schools of India.
As per sources, the media reported that the CAT 2010 results were leaked online, on the official website itself a few days. A cache URL was supposedly exchanged on several MBA discussion forums which lead to the CAT Scorecard Page. According the website link the results were for the CAT 2009 examination. However, when the roll numbers were entered on the website, the results that appeared were in fact for the year 2010.
Yet, all claims of the result being leaked have been disproved by the Common Admission Test 2010 Committee. It has been alleged that the website may have been hacked by someone, which is reminiscent of what had happened in the year 2004 when the CAT-IIM results had been leaked a day ahead of schedule on the website.
Moreover, another possibility is that the results were being uploaded on the website for test runs and someone from the organization made the results available on the public domain. Himanshu Rai, CAT 2010 Convener from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has said that he had no knowledge of how the incident had occurred and added that it would not be investigated further.
