    National Aptitude Test (NAT) is an All India Level Common Admission Form cum Entrance Test administered under the aegis of SRDE’s Association of Higher Education Institutions(SAHEI), Delhi. The Admission form and Entrance Test is available for students at the Under Graduate (NAT-UG) and the Post Graduate (NAT-PG) levels for fulfilling the requirements of different Higher Education Institutions on a common platform and thereby enabling access to various Professional, Vocational, Management and Allied programmes like BBA, BCA etc. at the UG and MBA, PGDM etc. at the PG levels in these Institutions.

    Eligibility: NAT – UG:
    Candidates who have appeared / are going to appear in the 10+2 of recognized Boards are eligible to apply for NAT-UG.

    NAT – PG: Graduates/candidates who have appeared / are going to appear in the final year of the graduate degrees courses of recognized Universities are eligible to apply for NAT-PG.

  • Sibal: New IITs not doing well due to state apathy.

    The new Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are not doing too well because of the poor infrastructure available, said Union human resource development minister, Mr Kapil Sibal, on Tuesday.

    Accusing the state governments of apathy in allocating the required land for these institutions, Mr Sibal said, “These new IITs are
    functioning in temporary campuses and are unable to attract new faculty members. We need commitment from state governments for at least 500 acres of land without any liabilities attached.” In 2008, new IITs were announced in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Gujarat, Punjab, Bihar, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

    Though land has been allotted for IIT-Hyderabad,
    the minister said buildings and other infrastructure are not yet in place.

    Mr Sibal was in Hyderabad to attend a four-day Geospatial World Forum 2011, which began here on Tuesday. Mr Sibal said the National Geospatial Data Authority Bill could be tabled in Parliament. The Bill would create an independent regulator to oversee licensing and distribution of geospatial information that is used for mapping.
