  • AITAM students selected by Mahendra Satyam

    SRIKAKULAM: As many as 64 students of Aditya Institute of Technology And Management were recruited by Mahendra Satyam in the campus recruitment drive.

    According to AITAM director V.V. Nageswara Rao, a total number of 271 students appeared for online written test, 76 students were declared to be eligible for interview and 64 got the final selection.

    Mahendra Satyam HR Department Vice-President Satya Totapally and other senior executives participated in the campus recruitment drive.

    Powermech Projects Limited, a leading core company in Mechanical Engineering branch selected 10 students in the recent campus interviews. Mr.Nageswara Rao congratulated all the students who were selected for jobs during the recruitment process.He said that many reputed companies were keen to take AITAM students as the institute had been maintaining highest academic standards while focusing on career-oriented programmes.

  • Lack of attendance; Students may miss Inter.

    HYDERABAD: As many as 25,000 students might miss their Intermediate Public Examinations due to lack of attendance. While students of several colleges in the state held protests on Saturday demanding their college authorities to issue hall tickets, the officials of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) stated that there are thousands of students who do not have the required 75 per cent attendance in the state.

    According to the board officials, while there could be over 55,000 students who do not have 75 per cent attendance, there are about 25,000 who do not have even 60 per cent.

    Intermediate examinations are expected to begin on March 7 and around 18 lakh students are registered for the same.

    The BIE rules stipulate that all students should have 75 per cent attendance. But students who have 60 to 75 per cent attendance will be allowed to sit for the examinations if they produce medical certificates. According to BIE officials, each year 20,000 to 25,000 students do not write the examination as they have no hall tickets.

    “Students think that they can threaten the college authorities and get their hall tickets. But this year we have given strict instructions to all principals not to issue certificates if they do not have admissions,” BIE officials stated.

    Representatives of Government Junior College Lecturers’ Association stated that the college officials should inform about the lack of attendance to the parents well in advance. “The students who do not have enough attendance will have to sit for the examination as private candidates. If the principals inform the parents well in advance we will be able to take admissions,” said Madhusudan Reddy, general secretary of the association.
