    GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the following specializations of MBA (Master of Business Administration) programmes, offered in the ensuing academic session 2012-14.Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the GET-2012 conducted by GITAM School of International Business. This test is compulsory for those applicants who have not taken any of the other valid tests, and is optional for those who already possess any of the CAT-2011/ IIFT-2011/MAT- (Sep-2011, December- 2011, Fabruary-2012)/ GMAT. The best test scores will be considered for short-listing for GD (Group Discussion) & PI (Personal Interview).

    How to apply :
    Interested candidates may obtain the application and brochure from IMS centres or AXIS Bank branches against a payment of Rs 1000. One can get the application form through post by sending requisition along with the DD of Rs 1100 drawn on favour of GITAM School of International Business payable at Visakhapatnam. Candidates can also download the application form from the University’s official website: http://www.gitam.edu/ However, the downloaded application form must be submitted along with the DD of Rs 1000 drawn in the prescribed format. The duly filled in application form along with the requisite documents (wherever needed) should be submitted latest by the last date mentioned below. For more detailed information regarding admission and application procedures candidates are requested to visit the University’s official website.

    NOTE : Candidates applying for GET-2012 shall in addition submit a non-refundable DD of Rs 500 along with the duly filled application form.

    Last date of submission of application form : January 14, 2012.

  • Fraud counselling on the rise in AP.

    The spate of fraud cases in the Eamcet web-based counselling has been giving the jitters to officials, students and parents. Questions are being asked about the security of the new system. Officials of the AP State Council of Higher Educ-ation (APSCHE) have denied that there has been any hacking into the system. They maintain that the fraudsters have only exploited the innocence of some students by getting them to reveal their log-in ID and password.

    Brokers and college managements have been conniving to entrap rural students, who are not well-versed with computers and disclose their passwords to Internet centre operators who then manipulate the options given by the students to ensure that seats are filled in the colleges of their (the broker’s) choice. The brokers collect a commission from the managements for steering students in their direction. “We have conducted awareness programmes in all the districts for students on the web-based counselling. We have repeatedly informed them not to disclose their passwords to anyone. Despite this, some students are doing this out of innocence or for whatever reasons,” said Prof Jayaprakash Rao, chairman, APSCHE.
