  • SSC results today.

    HYDERABAD: SSC-2011 results will be released on Thursday at 11.30 am. The director of government examinations said on Wednesday that the results will be released by K Parthasarathy, minister for school education, in the city. The SSC scores this year will be in the form of grades and not marks.

    Starting this year, the state government has introduced ‘absolute grading system’ for SSC, wherein students will be given a particular grade based on their marks in the examination.

    The secondary education department issued a GO (Go Rt No 119) to this effect on Wednesday. The GO stated that from SSC-2011, students who score between 92-100 marks in an examination will be given A1 grade. From 83 to 91%, the grade would be A2,75 to 82% B1, 67 to 74%, it would be B2, 59 to 66% C1, 51 to 58% C2, 43 to 50% D1, 35 to 42% D2 and 34 and below E. The grading system introduced is similar to the one followed by CBSE.

    Dr Satyanarayana, commissioner and director, school education department stated that absolute grading is introduced as per the recommendations of the central government.

    Pronoti Suhasini Kavuri, director of government examinations, stated that students this year will also be allowed to get photostat copies of their answer scripts.

  • Several city students scale ICSE summit.

    Several city students have scored more than 90 per cent in the ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII exams. The results were announced on Tuesday. While the pass percentage from AP stood at 99.27 for Class X, it was 93.17 per cent for Class XII students. Girls have once again done better than boys by recording a pass percentage of 99.78 in Class X and 96.23 per cent in Class XII respectively. It was 98.78 per cent and 89.76 per cent respectively for the boys.

    Abhinav Baid, a student of Secunderabad-based Gitanjali Devshala, secured 680 marks of 700 and Surya Teja of the same school secured 677 in the Class X exams. Varsha of Gitanjali School, Begumpet, too scored 677. Kunal Chandekar of Gitanjali got 99 per cent marks in ICSE (best of five) and Niraj School’s Prateek Manodhanya secured 97.2 (best of five). In ISC Class XII commerce stream, Ridhima Gupta of Nasr School, Khairatabad, secured 97.3 per cent and Nandini of Gitanjali School, secured 96.2 per cent. Nalini Kotari of St Ann’s scored 96 per cent. From AP, a total of 5,745 students from 83 schools had given ICSE exams and 703 students from 16 schools had appeared for ISC exams.
