Chaitanya, Narayana students top Eamcet

June 8: Students of Sri Chaitanya dominated the Eamcet results both in the engineering and the medical streams, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. Sri Chaitanya students Nalla Pratyush and Chilakamurthy Sasank shared top honours with Narayana student Nagam Prasanth in the engineering stream by securing the highest marks of 155 out of 159.

Of the top-10 scorers in the engineering stream, eight were from Sri Chaitanya and two from Narayana. In the medical stream, Sri Chaitanya students made a clean sweep by bagging all the top-10 ranks. While none of the girls could make it to the top-10 list in engineering, the girls swept the medical results by bagging six of the top 10 ranks.

Of the 2,69,988 students who appeared for the engineering exam across the state, 2,22,857 qualified, recording a pass percentage of 82.54. In the medical exam, out of 65,736 students who appeared for the exam, 55,995 were declared qualified, recording a pass percentage of 85.18. Eamcet ranks will be announced in the first week of July. In the engineering stream, Sri Chaitanya students P. Avinash and K. Harsha Vardhan secured 154 marks, while A. Surya Kiran, M. Tarun Kumar Reddy and P. Sai Chaitanya, all from Sri Chaitanya scored 153 marks each.

In the medical stream, the top 10 marks were bagged by Sri Chaitanya students. M. Himaja secured the highest marks — 158 out of 159 — while N. Uma Maheshwari and N. Snehitha got 157 marks each. Similarly, Roda Faith got 155 marks, while S. Kamini, G. Shiva Jaswanth, R. Sunny, Md. Salman, AGV Naresh and Laxmi Pravalika got 154 marks each. In the engineering stream, Narayana students B. Sree Kalyani, and A. Raghavendra Kiran secured 153 marks each, while V. Shaimik Reddy got 152 marks. K. Rithwik got 151 marks, while P. Saketh Manikanta, S. Venkata Sravani, G. Pranay and P. Jayavardhan Reddy secured 149 marks each. A. Sarat Chandra got 148 marks.
In the medical stream, Narayana students S. Vinod Kumar Reddy got 153 marks, P. Geetanjali, R. Purushotham Reddy and N. Muni Kiran got 152 marks each. L. Rakesh got 151 marks, while P. Sri Ramachandra Rahul, T. Rahul, D. Sreenivasulu, T. John Wesley and M. Aswini Kiran got 150 marks each.

The minister for higher and technical education Mr Damodara Raj Narasimha, said that the Eamcet engineering counselling will be held from the third week of July and the classes for first year students will begin from August 16.
