For some of us it is interesting and useful to know the day's weather in advance. It helps us get ready for the day. But for some people this is much more important. Farmers can plan their work in the fields better and housewives can time their shopping or washing to make it more fruitful. And all this depends on the accuracy of our weather forecasts.
A lot of work takes place in weather stations in different parts of the world to give us as accurate a forecast as possible. The smaller weather stations report their observations on in temperature, barametric pressure, cloud conditions, etc. to the central weather stations. These observations are then analysed by expert meteorologists who make predictions on weather at regular intervals. It is not every forecast that comes true of course, on all days, but most do.
