  1. a) A fixed point is 75mm from a fixed straight line. A point ‘P’ moves such that its distance from the fixed point is twice its distance from the fixed straight line. Trace the locus of ‘P’. Name the curve.

    b) Draw a hypocycloid of a circle of 40 mm diameter which rolls inside another circle of 200 mm diameter. Draw a tangent and normal at a point 90 mm from the center of the directing circle.

  2. Draw the projections of the following points, keeping the distance between the projectors as 30 mm on the same reference line:

    A is 25 mm above the H.P and 50 mm in front of the V.P;

    B is 40 mm below the H.P and 25 mm behind the V.P;

    C is in the H.P and 35 mm behind the V.P;

    D is in the V.P and 40 mm above the H.P;

    E is in both the H.P and V.P.

  3. A line AB, 100 mm long, makes an angle of 30° with the H.P and 45° with the V.P. Draw the projections of the line when end A is in both the H.P and V.P.

  4. Draw the projections of a regular hexagon of 40 mm side, having two of its sides parallel to the H.P and inclined at 45° to the V.P, and its surface resting on one of these sides.

  6. Draw the projections of a cone, base 75 mm diameter and axis 100 mm long, lying on the H.P on one of its generators with the axis parallel to the V.P.

  7. Draw an isometric view of a hexagonal prism having base side 30 mm and axis 75 mm long, with its axis vertical and a side of the base parallel to the V.P.

  8. Draw the following views of the object shown in figure. All dimensions are in mm.
