LONG ESSAY (Answer any TWO) 2 X 20 = 40 Marks
1. What is cardiac arrhythmia? Give the classification of Anti arrhythmic drugs with example and
discuss the pharmacology, toxicology and uses of Calcium channel blockers. Note on adverse
reaction of quinidine.
2. a) Classify Antiepileptic drugs with examples.
b) Explain the mechanism of action, therapeutic uses and adverse effects of Phenytoin and
Carbamazepine.
3. Classify analgesics with example and describe Opioid receptors and give the pharmacology of
Opioid analgesics.
