- Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow. Choose the best option provided below questions (i) and (ii). One afternoon, some fishermen were passing by a pond and found it full of fish. Since they were already returning after catching fish they decided to come back the next morning. Three fish were swimming on the surface when they heard the fishermen discuss their plans. The first fish panicked. She assembled all other fish and told them what they had heard. She said, “Tomorrow morning the fishermen will arrive to catch us. It will not be wise for anybody to stay here any longer ! I will leave with my family at the earliest.” The second fish agreed, “I shall follow you my friend for what you say is correct. It will be unwise to remain here anymore !” But the third fish disagreed. He laughed at the two fish, and said, “See how cowardly these two are ! This pond belonged to our forefathers, and it is our home now. For so long no harm has ever come to the fish of this pond. Moreover, if death has to come, let us rather die bravely in our own home !". Thus, the fish got divided into two groups. The group that wanted to stay laughed at the other group. However, by evening, the families and followers of the first two fish started their journey to a different pond through a small outlet. The next morning the fishermen arrived as they had planned, and trapped all the fish that remained in the pond. Not a single fish was spared, and the fishermen were overjoyed with the big haul of fish that they had caught.

The bag on her back was very heavy and she was walking painfully. She could hardly walk. The guru did not ask any of his disciples to help the woman. Instead he himself walked up to the woman and said, “Let me carry your load for you.” The woman did not know who it was who volunteered to carry her heavy load. She had tears in her eyes and gladly gave the load to the guru. The guru carried the load on his back with a smile, and accompanied her up to her cottage. He then took out a silver coin. Giving it to the woman, he said, “Mother, please bless me." The guru showed true nobility the heart. The ones who are truly great are humble like the guru. We too must resolve to serve those who are needy. We must be gentle and kind to all forms of life-human and animal. The greatest happiness comes from wiping the tears of the poor or feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty or helping the weak and sick. At night before going to sleep we must ask ourselves if we have done any good deed that day. We must also reflect upon the teachings of great leaders and thinkers like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand and Shri Aurobindo. If we follow in their footsteps we will find ourselves better human beings.
