SECTION-C

  1. Derive the Schrodinger wave equation using various postulates of Quantum Mechanics.
  2. A monochromatic radiation is incident on a solution of 0.05 molar concentration of an absorbing substance. The intensity of radiation is reduced to one-fourth of the initial value after passing through 10cm of the solution. Calculate the molar extinction coefficient of the substance.
  3. Discuss briefly Freundlich adsorption isotherm of adsorption. Show that at normal pressures, Langmuir's unimolecular adsorption isotherm becomes identical with Freundlich adsorption isotherm.
  4. The t1/2 of a reaction is doubled as initial concentration of the reactant is doubled. What is the order of the reaction?
