1 (a) Define class and object. Explain constructors and destructor with an example.
(b) Develop a java program to illustrate the operation of string class to sort an array of strings.

2 (a) Explain inheritance with its general format. Give the member access rules with example.
(b) Discuss how do you implement interfaces demonstrate with a program.

3 (a) Write a java program to implement STUDENT database with roll-no, name, marks and compute
total method.
Use inner classes to define EXAM, SPORTS classes.
(Assume necessary data such as (GPA) sports points etc).
(b) Discuss how to create package and access control mechanism with example.

4 Describe linked list class, with its various operations to add, and delete an item from first and last.

5 Write in detail about client/server interaction with stream socket connections.

6 With syntax explain the use of try, catch, throw, throws and finally for exception handling. Illustrate
with example for different exceptions.

7 List and explain various swing components. Discuss any two in detail.

8 Compare applet and application. Explain the life cycle of an applet with neat diagram.
