applications.
2. Compare and contrast Circuit Switched Network and Packet Switched Network.
3. What are the different types of media? How these are represented in computer memory?
Also, Discuss bandwidth and compression issues related with multimedia applications.
How these issues are addressed in your organization?
4. Discuss about different text compression techniques with at least one example each.
5. How different file formats : BMP, PNG, TIFF, JPEG, DFX and AVI represent
multimedia information? Write their advantages as well as disadvantages.
6. a) Discuss different types of redundancy different types of media. Which variable
length Coding algorithm is most commonly used to compress a signal? Also, explain
how it compresses a signal by using suitable example?
b) Explain in detail still Image Compression Standard.
7. Explain in detail the various video types and video digitization formats. How a digitized
video is compressed using the MPEG-1 standard? Also, state why I-frames are inserted
into the compressed output stream relatively frequently.
