2. Write short notes on the following principles of design balance, rhythm, unity, monotony,
emphasis and contrast. 17.5
3. a. Why is scale and proportion important architecture? 17.5
b. How many types of scales are there? Explain each with sketches. 17.5
UNIT-II
4. Design a carpet Size 6m ? 4m for a five star lobby using geometrical shapes squares
triangles and circles. Minimum one of each is to be used in the design and maximum any
number any size may be used. The design should clearly depict the concept of contrast. 50
