Hyderabad, Nov 02 : Nearly 4,000 students registered online for the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) on the first day of the registration. However, a note on the IIT website said that candidates who have registered and filled the online application forms before 10.15 a.m. on October 31 must register and fill the online application forms once again.
The IIT-JEE, which will be held on April 8, next year has two modes of registration. Candidates interested in registering online can do it before December 10 this year while for those who prefer offline mode applications will be sold from November 11 to December 5. The last date for submission of forms is December 15. The IIT Kanpur is conducting the test this year for admissions into 15 IITs.
The exam will have quite a few changes this year and an important one is that candidates have to score a minimum of 10 p.c. marks in all the three subjects and a minimum aggregate of 35 p.c. to be eligible for the common rank list. This year a separate rank list will be prepared for OBC, and SC and ST candidates. The OBCs will get a relaxation of 10 p.c.in the minimum marks to clear the test.
