Apply online for fee scheme: State
Nearly 90 per cent of the government junior and degree colleges do not have computers, scanners and an Internet connection.
Ignoring this fact, from this academic year, the state government has made it mandatory for all colleges to submit online applications of the students who wish to be a part of the fee reimbursement scheme.
The colleges have to submit about 20 scanned certificates of the students.
The government decided
to implement this scheme following complaints of large-scale irregularities while granting scholarships and fee reimbursements. To check this, the government has asked the respective colleges to scan the required documents and submit an online application to the government for approval.
As a result of not having the required infrastructure, some colleges are asking the students to approach private Internet centres, which can be very expensive for the students as most of them are from the economically weaker sections of society.
