43,000 tech seats still vacant
Hyderabad : As many as 43,034 engineering seats remained vacant after the Eamcet seat allotment list of the first phase of counselling was announced here on Saturday.
Of the total 1, 92,944 seats available in the convenor quota only 1,49,910 seats got filled up. Eamcet officials have decided to conduct the second phase of counselling from October 5 to fill up the vacant seats. Students who were allotted seats in the first phase must report at the respective colleges by October 4.
The officials are forced to conduct the second phase since one lakh candidates skipped the first phase of counselling. Pharmacy colleges were also hit with only 1,713 seats getting filled out of a total of 12,779.
In ECE, 45,267 seats have been filled out of 50,562 seats. In CSE, of 43,535 seats only 34,908 have been taken. In EEE, 23,161 of 30,578 seats found takers.
