JNTU awards ‘0’ to smart MCA techies

Hyderabad, Nov. 15: About 1,200 students have applied for re-evaluation of their MCA fourth semester paper after it turned out that they got marks that were far below their aggregate performance. Some of the students got a zero.

The students have demanded and punishment for evaluators who may have been responsible for errors in marking. Nearly 20,000 students from 130 MCA colleges affiliated to JNTU-Hyderabad appeared for the exams. Of them, about 1,200 students believe they got less marks than they deserved.

For instance, I. Koti Reddy of Avanthi MCA College, Hyderabad, secured 80 per cent marks in the three earlier semesters. Even in the fourth semester, he got above 70 per cent in five subjects but zero marks in one subject, Advance Java Programming.
