    ORDER
    As per B.Tech. (R05) regulations, one of the academic requirements to award degree is that the student should secure 216 credits (out of 224credits registered) with the compulsory subjects as listed below: :-
    1. All the first year subjects
    2. All the practical subjects
    3. Industry oriented mini-project
    4. Seminar
    5. Project work.
    Many representations from the students of this university belonging to R05 regulations are received, requesting the University to exempt I year subjects from the compulsory subjects clearing that in spite of their hard work and best effort, they are unable to pass one or two subjects of I year which are compulsory subjects to become eligible for the award of degree.
    In this connection, after careful consideration of the representations, mentioned above, the Vice Chancellor is pleased to exempt all the first year subjects from the compulsory subjects, listed above. The clause No.1 of R05 regulation is hereby amended as follows:
    A Student will be declared eligible for the award of B.Tech. Degree if he fulfills the following academic regulations:
    i. Pursued a course of study for not less than four academic years and not more than eight
    academic years.
    ii. Registered for 224 credits and secured 216 credits with compulsory subjects as listed below.
    1. All the practical subjects
    2. Industry oriented mini-project
    3. Seminar
    4. Project work.
    This order shall come into force for the students appeared for the examinations during April/May-2010 onwards.

  • Aptitude test to guide students (CBSE)

    Sept. 23: In a first of its kind initiative, the Central Board of Secondary Education has come out with a students? global aptitude index to measure the preference of students for subjects after their Class X. Students studying Class X can take the test (which is optional) to help parents, teachers and students initiate a dialogue on choice of subjects leading on to careers in life.

    The CBSE?s controller of examinations, Mr M.C. Sharma, said the senior secondary stage in a person?s life becomes the crucial defining phase as it influences higher studies and career choices. In an ideal situation a child should be allowed to choose subjects based on his abilities and interest.

    The SGAI is a series of aptitude tests that combine interest profile of a student. This index will empower a child with self-knowledge in terms of the aptitude and interest, to enable the child in making an informed choice of subjects.

    Those who wish to take the aptitude test have to pay Rs 100 as a demand draft payable at Delhi favouring Secretary, CBSE. The test is expected to take place on January 15.

    G. Siddarth, studying class X in a CBSE school, said this aptitude test is a boon for students, as most of them are likely to be confused by the variety of choices ahead of them when they have to select their branch of study in Class XI. ?Instead of others evaluating and guiding us, this test will instead point out our academic strengths and weakness helping us to select the right course,? he said.
