2. Discuss the criteria for scheduling irrigation or approaches for irrigation scheduling.
3. Explain the different measuring structures used for measuring irrigation water.
4. Discuss the process of absorption of moisture by crops.
5. Write a short note on water resources and irrigation development in India and Punjab.
6. Briefly discuss the role of plastic mulching used in crop production.

SECTION-C
7. a) Define Drip Irrigation. Discuss the advantages and limitations of drip irrigation.
b) Discuss the water management techniques used in rice, wheat, maize, cotton,
mustard, mango and tomato.
8. Define Drainage, its principle and discuss its types along with advantages. Also, explain
the causes of bad drainage.
9. Explain the crop water requirement and factors affecting the crop water requirement
along with critical stages for irrigation.
