1. What is the concept of Town Planning? Describe how towns in various parts of the world
were designed from Renaissance period till the pre-industrial age.
2. Define Neighborhood. How is neighborhood planning unique in its concept? Explain
with the help of suitable examples and graphical representation.
3. Differentiate between the cities based on grid iron and radial pattern of road network.
Taking examples of two Indian cities - each designed on the basis of above two road
patterns - explain how efficiently they are functioning?
4. What are the components of a Master plan? Referring to some planning laws, explain
how a master plan of a city can help in developing the quality of life of the people of that
area.
5. Describe how a survey is carried out for assessing the physical condition of any urban
area.
